My very first plaid scarf. I love these colors together I wasn’t 100 percent on them until the piece was finished. Now, I love it <3

It’s been a minute.

It’s been a while since I last posted. I hope this post finds you all well. There has been so much going on. I lost my day time job, I had an open heart surgery. (but for story reasons, I ran into a bear… you should see the bear), my parents came to michigan for the first time over the summer (I have lived here 13 years and they have never been) I am in the process of Trademarking Mitten Made and working Mitten Made full time. I have worked on some new designs and reworking the product selection. Including these fingerless mittens.

And sweetheart headbands

and some other cute stuff too.

One of my best friends is having her first baby. Another friend moved far away. I made a new full time nerd buddy. I am giving her an education on Being Human and how Russell Tovey is an amazing actor.

So how have you been?

Wyandotte Street Fair

The Wyandotte street fair was over the weekend. It was a four day event that had the best weather.

We set up the day before the event started so we would not have to rush so early in the morning. We had plenty of lemonade to stay hydrated and we were across one of the nicest stores that had air conditioning and a juice bar.

Everyone love the new pieces including these fingerless mittens, caplets, & hobbit hats.

the oldies were a hit as well. :{D

Ciao!

My Heart

Today I received a package that I just adore. I received from a friend across a few states. She knitted me a heart, with the stitches and all how fantastic is this. I have been recovering day by day. With lots of love and texts to and from my good close friends, colleen, sarah, rachel, and a handful of others.

I hope to be a better friend this year, a better person in general. I will keep this heart pillow close to my heart to remind me every day of what amazing people I have in my life.

p.s. and how cool is it to have a knitted human heart! <3

Bearded Masks

In my adventures in crocheting I have crochet a mustache stick and brooch. I have tried to crochet a beard and fu-man-chu on a stick and it failed miserably. During my recovery from my open heart surgery I have not been able to really crochet, crochet. So I decided to give the beard a go one more time.

I have to say I can not read a pattern to save my life, however I do write them in my own gibberish. This is not a original concept by any means but I look pretty handsome. <3 xoxo

Hobbit Hats

Over the past few years I have had plenty of peeps ask me do you have any hats. I have time and time again have said no. I have tried, so hard, to make hats that are fun to make and worth selling. I looked long and hard and found a style I loved in knits only. A few years ago I was at a craft show and met some ladies who were selling knit hats and hand died yarns. The hats they were selling were baby pixie hats and I fell in love with them. Being a kid at heart I found that I can never find fun winter hats for myself. I would love an adult version of a baby pixie. And after lots of trial and error I was able to redesign a Hat for young adults or young at heart.

These hats have straps on either end and have a slight point to them giving a slight point in the back. They are 100% acrylic, and fantastic for peeps with sensitive skin or vegan friendly peeps. These are posted at MittenMade.etsy.com and come in a variety of colors.
